I continued working on the SS25 Main styling decks by finding missing mannequin photos and styling reference images. I assisted Scarlett with a men’s reels shoot, by steaming a couple of rails, organising them into drops and looks and finding missing styling pieces. Throughout the shoot I would continuously tidy the fitting area and put the samples back onto the rails when they’d been shot. The following day I assisted Kathryn with womenswear ecomm, by getting the next look’s ready in the models changing room and hanging the previous looks back in the right place on the rails. I also prepped Kathryn’s womenswear looks for reels for the next day, made sure all the looks were ready and in order on the rails and that accessories needed were ready to be used on set. On the day of the women’s reels shoot, I helped prep by steaming everything on the rails and making sure accessories and extra things were ready to be used when needed. Throughout the shoot, I would get the next looks ready. On the Friday I prepped for the William Morris shoot happening the following week, this involved pulling stock and styling pieces and putting them into garment bags, packing up shoes and accessories into boxes to be driven to the location of the shoot.

I started off the second week of July assisting on the William Morris campaign shoot. When I arrived at the location; Levens Hall in Cumbria, I unboxed all the shoes and accessories, as well as untagged all the clothes. Throughout the day I assisted the freelance stylist Rachel Bakewell with getting the model ready into the looks as well as putting the clothes away after they’ve been shot. I also helped to steam a large backdrop and then assist with getting it set up for the final shots. At the end of the shoot, I packed up all the shoes and accessories back into boxes and retagged all the clothing pieces and packed it all away into garment bags.

The day after the campaign shoot, I had an onboarding/ induction day where I learnt about the brands history and about all the different departments. It was a good way to meet most of the other placement students and see which other more permanent staff were also new to the Barbour team. The rest of the week involved several different tasks, such as assisting Kathryn and Aisling with organising the SS25 Main womenswear styling decks, worked on AW24 buy stock for Next which meant pulling specific garments from the stock room and then hanging it all up on a rail before creating a deck including mannequin photos and codes for each item.
I finished AW24 Next buy stock task and also worked on the SS25 accessories deck by adding mannequin photos to the slides to match the codes, so that the stylists could then easily add the looks that matched. I spent a couple days during the week assisting Scarlett and a freelance stylist with SS25 menswear styling days, I checked which codes had been shot and noting this down on the range plan as well as adding the styling photos to the different decks. Another thing I got asked to do was pull stock that had been dropped or needed to be re shot for flat lays onto empty rails. On the Thursday I helped with men’s ecomm, assisted freelance stylist Otter with steaming all the garments ready for being shot, organized the rails in order of looks, made sure the looks where ready in the changing room for the model to get changed into and then hang up things that have been shot, as well as hanging things up on a spare rail which were coming up as not needing to be shot on the shoot list. I also would check the other sets for things that we needed for example shoes or jeans which were being used on both sets. And then on Friday I was helping Scarlett with DTC stock pulling.
I spent the last few days of July working on several different tasks such as assisting Scarlett by pulling Barbour International samples to be used for a B.I. Unlocked shoot, I tidied the styling area and studio by getting rid of several scrap boxes and empty plastic bags which samples often get delivered in, as well as putting samples back into the stock room from the shot area to clear up space. I helped to pull stock for SS25 reshoots as well as styling pieces, accessories and shoes for the following day. I also assisted Rachel in the stock room by putting some rails away which consisted of AW24 Pre and Main. For this I used the range plans to check the SKUS and see what collection things were in so I knew where to hang them up in the stock room.
