I started off November by prepping for a campaign shoot that we had happening in the studio, I steamed and cut off tags and then tidied up the samples and styling pieces at the end of the shoot. I also pulled AW25 samples and put them onto a rail for Molly the photography placement so she could shoot them on mannequins. At the end of the first week of November we had to pack down the studio for launch, I packed up the whole styling area and moved everything into a container that we had outside the building.
At the start of November I also assisted Aisling Ryan with AW25 pre rack ups for a couple of days, where I worked on the styling decks by adding the imagery of the styling references that she would send me once she’d created a few looks every so often. When we were finished with the AW25 pre rack ups, I went back over the mens and women’s decks and made sure all the codes and imagery was added, so they were ready for the styling days. I then moved all the rails that were used and put the samples back on the racking in the stock room, I also packed all the accessories and footwear into boxes and put them to one side in the stock room so they were out of the way for the launch event.
The following week I pulled AW25 main samples from the stock room, specifically ones that were used for campaign, as well as styling pieces that were also included, I then put them onto rails to be shot on catwalk videos. I spent a good amount of time working on styling decks that needed making and editing. Mid week I was asked to assist with the AW25 pre styling/ fitting days for the rest of the week, whilst the stylists and photographers worked on getting imagery of the styled looks on the models, I would add the images to the right decks and check that all the codes for each thing were noted down on the slides and if they were styling I’d make a note of where they were from for example we have footwear from places like Zara, Massimo Dutti and legwear from COS etc.
The last week of November involved the catwalk videos, I spent one of those days working with the photography intern Molly, we shot menswear looks that had been shot on campaign, at first it felt like I had been thrown in at the deep, as it was the first time I’d really been able to style on my own but eventually I got the hang of it. The two following days after that I worked with photographer Dan on women’s catwalk videos. I really enjoyed being able to work on these, it was a good chance to be able to learn to check things like creases, how things are showing up on camera and if the clothes are sitting right on the model.
