September

I started off September by making a start on the SS25 Main Barbour International womenswear styling decks so they were prepped to be able to add the imagery of the clothing and accessories that went into each look, I then tidied and cleared the womenswear set from the previous week,, where I re-tagged everything that had been shot, put the footwear back in the styling area, tidied any accessories used away into the stock room and gave the styling trolley that we use on set a sort out for the next ecomm shoot. I helped Molly by steaming a rail of clothes that she needed to shoot on mannequins before doing more work on the SS25 main B.I. styling decks. The following day I went through the womenswear decks and printed off all the remaining slides that hadn’t been shot yet and then organised the sheets into collections as well as having them so that they were in order of legwear to make it a smoother process on set. I also spent time working on the SS25 main menswear decks before checking through them and printed one of the collections out, so the sheets could be used on ecomm.

The following week I pulled stock from the SS25 Main rainwear, modern country and re-engineered collections to be shot on ecomm further in the week, along with men’s B.I. collection samples. On the Tuesday I helped prepare for triple ecomm meaning we had three models coming in, so we had to have three separate sets on the scoop, I steamed several rails of samples to be shot and helped the freelance stylists with finding styling bits, accessories and footwear that they needed. I spent more time working on the SS25 styling decks and getting sheets printed off that were going to be needed on ecomm, as well as assisting Milly with gathering plinths from the container so that they could be used on set for Christmas DTC. Over the last couple days of this specific week, I made a start on pulling AW24 Main stock for Christmas DTC. I used nuorder to find the products quicker as you can search the SKUS, and it’ll come up with mannequin shots of the product. I also used dividers on the different rails to show the different collections and if the codes appeared to be in more than one collection, I would note it on the products spreadsheet. Once something was found and put on the rail, I would highlight the row on excel green but if I was unable to find something I would highlight it orange. And if something was notes as carry forward/ over I would highlight it in pink if it hadn’t been already.

Towards the end of the week James decided to make me “responsible for missing styling on ecom sets” and gave me a list of responsibilities:

  • Stock team still to pull samples and pop them on rails, then handed over to you to begin checks.
  • Morning or ideally day before shoot begin to check over rails and continues to do this whilst we are shooting.
  • If you find something is missing from the rails/sheets find this and add it to the rail.
  • Anything that’s flagged as still missing from the rail, locate it in the styling area or stock room.
  • Steam rails so they’re ready to be shot.

Mid-September I assisted with Christmas DTC, where I got to hang the jackets up with invisible hanging wire, style them and arrange the ribbon in different ways on the plinths, I also did the same with accessories and footwear but laid them out on the plinths in different positions. I helped with DTC by also pulling stock from the gifts for dogs’ collection, to be shot the following week. When everything had been shot, I tidied all the props back into the prop room and container and I repainted the sections of the cove that had been painted red and beige. As well as putting all the stock that was used back away into the stock and accessories room and organised what needed to be returned to Barbour house.
